Can You Help Us?

The Kars Community Recreation Association has a very active Senior’s Luncheon Programme. The Association hosts approximately 200 to 240 seniors six times a year, Valentines Day, St Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Harvest (Thanksgiving) and Christmas. The dates are posted on the calendar. We provide a full meal, table service, entertainment and prizes.

The events normally take place on Thursday prior to the actual holiday, Christmas being the exception. Preparations take place on the Wednesday and Thursday. Preparations consist of preparing the food and the hall. On the Wednesday we need volunteers to give us 3 or 4 hours of their time in decorating, setting up tables, placing chairs, doing the place setting or working in the kitchen. On the Thursday we need volunteers for approximately 4 hours to help meet, greet and seat the senior’s, serving the meals, clearing the tables and general clean up after the event.

If you can spare a few hours on one or both days please call 613-489-2524 (the KCRA Hall) and leave a message we will get back to you. This is a great opportunity to donate a few hours of your time to a very worthy cause and meet new folks in your community.
